Students Commemorate Remembrance Day
BackRemembrance Day, a momentous occasion to honour the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, was solemnly commemorated at Oxclose Academy on November 11th. This day, marking the end of the First World War in 1918, continues to hold profound significance, reminding us of the bravery and sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom.
Students and staff across the school came together to observe the day with deep respect and reflection. Uniformed Protective Services (UPS) students led by example, arriving dressed in attire that symbolised the solemnity of the occasion. The entire school gathered in the yard for a poignant two-minute silence, offering a moment of unified reflection and gratitude for the nation’s heroes.
Mr. Leighton delivered an inspiring assembly that captivated the audience, highlighting the importance of remembering historical sacrifices and fostering a sense of national pride. The students’ exemplary behaviour throughout the day reflected the gravity of the event, embodying values of respect, reflection, and pride.
