Student Information
Throughout your time at Oxclose Community Academy you will encounter many activities to aid your decisions with your next steps, as you transition from Oxclose Community to the wider world and become the next generation of worker. The image below shows some of the activities you will take part in each year.
We will endeavour to provide you with careers information, advice and guidance by interacting with colleges, 6th forms, Universities and local employers. Every year you will complete an Aspire Unit of careers related tasks on PHSE. You’ll have at least 1 employer assembly, 2 university activities, 1 employer visit, a careers fayre and college ran activity. In Year 9 you will have the option to participate in an experience of the work place, through ‘Take your Child to Work Day’. In Year 10, you‘ll take part in a weeks work experience, mock interviews and visit many colleges/6th forms for taster days.
In Year 11, you need to visiting all the college/6th form Open Evenings and enrolling for establishments and course you might want to do when you leave school. Steve Moses our Careers Advisor will also offer you a 45 minute Careers Appointment. Email moses.s1@oxclose.net for an appointment. Steve will come round to Form classes on a morning to hand out interview slips. Below are useful links to the establishment website. Mrs Reid will email you regularly with open evening information.
