Our Vision
It is vitally important to us that all students in our care are given the best possible opportunities to prepare them for the next steps beyond Oxclose. As well as providing students with the knowledge skills and understanding to help them achieve academically we also encourage students to be work ready by providing them with the skills and impartial advice and guidance to make informed choices that allow them to become the successful young people that we need to develop and sustain our work force of the future.
Student Opportunities
From as early as year 7, our students take part in our ‘Aspire’ programme (a bespoke careers programme that suits the requirements of our students). Lessons are delivered throughout all year groups via our PSHE programme, bespoke events and where opportunities arise, departments have enhanced their curriculum using employer engagement. We further enrich the CEIAG offer by offering:
- Aspire Days
- Work Experience
- College, 6th Form and University taster sessions
- Employer Engagement activities
- Career Fayres
- Employability workshops
- Mock Interviews
- 1-2-1 Careers interviews offering impartial advice and guidance.
- Apprenticeship workshops
Our programmes aim to raise the aspirations of young people, providing them with the knowledge, breathe and depth of information, experiences and 'employability' skills that broadens their knowledge of different career pathways so they are able make informed choices at crucial stages in their lives, allowing them to fulfil their dreams. To ensure all aspects of careers education is adhered the academy follows the CDi Framework guidance for progression. There are 6 key strands:
